What is PiQ Magazine?

PiQ Magazine is a monthly publication covering genre entertainment, ranging from anime to movies to comics to music, and the fan culture surrounding it. The primary goals of PiQ are to share and celebrate the love we have for these particular forms of entertainment with our readers, as well as shine a light on those often-overlooked projects, artists, creators and studios throughout the entertainment world.

How do you pronounce “PiQ?”

It’s pronounced the same as “pique” or “peek.” Not “pie-q” or “p-i-q.” And no, it’s not an acronym (although we’ve heard some rather inventive “backronyms” so far).

How much does PiQ Magazine cost and where can I buy it?

A single issue costs $6.99 US/$7.99 CAN. You can find PiQ in most national newsstands and retailers, including Borders, Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, B. Dalton, Books-A-Million, Blockbuster and Wal-mart.

What kind of subscription plans do you offer?

Subscriptions are available for one year (12 issues) at $39.99USD. Canadian subscriptions are available for $69.99USD and international subscriptions are also available for $84.99USD.

Will there be any bonus items (like DVDs, posters, etc.) included with issues of PiQ Magazine?

At this time, there are no included inserts with the magazine.

I am a former Newtype USA subscriber. What happened to my subscription?

Your existing subscription to Newtype USA has been transitioned over to PiQ Magazine, beginning with Issue 1. You will receive two issues for every one issue of Newtype USA remaining on your subscription.

Why is my subscription being switched over to PiQ Magazine?

As is common practice with a magazine that has ceased operations, Newtype USA’s subscriber list was acquired by PiQ, LLC and those subscribers will now receive issues of PiQ Magazine.

I am not satisfied with PiQ Magazine. Can I cancel my subscription?

Will this site have content from the magazine?

This site (piqmag.com) will function primarily as a supplement to the magazine itself, allowing our staff to both share daily happenings and news as well as get feedback and thoughts from our readers. Some “extended” magazine content may also be added to the site from time to time.

Do I need to register for this site?
